Petloss Support Group
The bond we share with our companion animals is indescribable. Many (non-pet) people do not and will never understand this bond. All of us love and live in different ways and all of us grieve differently. There is no wrong way to grieve. Lanoka Oaks Veterinary Center is honored to host a Companion Animal Bereavement Support group. The group will meet the 3rd Friday of every month at 7:30p.m. The facilitator will be Lin Murdoch. Lin has a master's degree in education and divinity. She is also certified through the American Academy of Bereavement. The group will deal with many of the emotions that come with death of our pets such as guilt, depression, disbelief, anger, denial and grief. Topics such as my family and friends do not understand?, How do we tell the children?, We just could not afford to continue?, Does getting another companion animal mean that I don't love _____ anymore? will be discussed. The group is open to anyone who would like to attend. It does not matter if you lost a pet yesterday or twenty years ago. Grief is grief, there is no time limit. If you are looking to share, just listen or a little of both, please come, all are welcome. While a RSVP is not required, it is appreciated (we want to make sure we have enough refreshments). For more information, please call Lin at 732 684 9059 or 609 971 9669 and ask for Julie or email askus@lanokaoaks.com
The next meeting is June 21st
